Ubud is the cultural and artistic center of Bali, situated in the heart of the island. It is famous as an arts, crafts, spiritual and wellness hub, with much of the town and nearby villages consisting of artists’ workshops and galleries. There are some remarkable historical temples, stunning architecture and other noteworthy sights in and around Ubud. The most famous ancient holy sites include the Tirta Empul temple complex, intricately carved Goa Gajah (“Elephant Cave”) and Gunung Kawi, with its impressive rock-cut shrines.
While Ubud seems like one sprawling town, it is in fact fourteen villages, each run by its own banjar (village committee). Ubud has grown rapidly over the past few decades with some central parts cracking under the strain of coping with the increasing number of visitors. In spite of the continued growth there are still terraced rice fields along the rivers and away from the town centre, and regular, quiet village life carries on relatively undisturbed. Infinity Villa Ubud is one such example of an oasis of tranquility and genuine Balinese life.
Whether you are coming to Ubud for one of its well known events such as Bali Spirit Festival or the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival, to hone your yoga or meditation skills, or just to relax and enjoy the magical atmosphere, staying with us is guaranteed to enhance your experience.
